Our offerings range from premium models crafted from rare and exotic tonewoods to our environmentally conscious Relicmaster™ Series, which transforms reclaimed wood into exceptional instruments at a more accessible price point.

The legacy of Lynn Ellsworth as a master luthier is firmly established within the guitar industry. As the founder of the original Boogie Bodies, Lynn helped shape the early boutique guitar movement through his uncompromising craftsmanship and innovative designs. While many of his contemporaries went on to achieve significant commercial success, Lynn faced the realities and challenges of growing a manufacturing business. Ultimately, he stepped away from the industry and pursued a different career path. More than a decade later, the Boogie Bodies name was revived by another luthier with no affiliation to Lynn or the original company.

Enter Patrick Coleman.

Growing up in the greater Boston area, Patrick's basement became a gathering place for local musicians. Surrounded by guitars, music, and aspiring artists, he developed a lifelong appreciation for the sound, beauty, and craftsmanship of fine instruments.

When music alone could not provide a stable living, Patrick enlisted in the United States Air Force and was eventually stationed in Spokane, Washington. During that time, he acquired an older Boogie Bodies guitar body from a fellow bandmate and began searching for parts to restore it. That search ultimately led him to Lynn Ellsworth.

To Patrick's amazement, Lynn was living in Spokane as well.

At the time, Lynn worked in a local machine shop, but his passion for guitar building had never diminished. In his spare hours, he continued crafting guitars and basses, driven by the same dedication to excellence that had defined his earlier career.

When Patrick visited Lynn's home for the first time, he was astonished. Beautifully crafted guitar bodies were stacked throughout the workshop, while completed instruments rested on stands around the house. The quality, artistry, and meticulous attention to detail were impossible to ignore.

Patrick immediately recognized that he was witnessing the work of a master craftsman whose talent deserved a wider audience. Convinced that guitar players everywhere should have access to instruments of this caliber, he encouraged Lynn to return to professional luthier and launch a new guitar company.

Despite Lynn working part-time during retirement and Patrick maintaining a full-time career as a civil servant, the company continued to grow steadily through word-of-mouth and a reputation for excellence. Sadly, Lynn passed away in 2024, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of innovation, craftsmanship, and dedication to the art of guitar making.

Today, that legacy lives on through Patrick. Entrusted with Lynn's knowledge and inspired by the lessons he learned at Lynn's side, Patrick retired from civil service and assumed the role of head luthier and steward of the Lynn Ellsworth Guitars tradition. He has assembled a team of highly skilled craftsmen and electronics specialists dedicated to carrying the company forward while maintaining the standards of quality and attention to detail that Lynn established.
